Magnet Golf Outing

In 2018 Magnet's social committee invigorated a member favorite with the Golf Outing! 64 golfers, 12 sponsors, and 6 volunteers took a full day to network, enjoy Madison's summer weather and donate to an amazing cause!

Congrats to our 1st place team at -9 par was: Cory Furmanek, Gerald Hanson, Joe Buss, and Josh Nelson who won a free round of golf with cart for 4 to Pleasant View.

We also hosted a raffle with all proceeds donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters Dane County!

MagPro: What is Happiness

Magnet's Professional Development Committee believes that professional development is directly connected to personal wellbeing. We brought in Pelin Kesebir, Ph.D. from the Center for Healthy Minds, UW-Madison to share insights from the science of happiness with ancient wisdom and lay out the fundamentals of happiness – what it is, what it isn’t, and how each of us can take simple steps to come closer to achieving the fundamental dream that unites us all.

We learned:

  • Happiness is a skill that can be cultivated through effort
  • We have to be the architect of our own happiness.
  • Happiness is the fuel which enables us to go out and do good in the world
  • Happiness comes not from trying to create the most attractive self-possible, but taking the focus off the self.

Member Appreciation Event: Night at the Duck Pond

Each year Magnet celebrates our members with a networking outing at the Madison Mallard's game! This year we upgraded our standard Duck Blind tickets to the private suits!

Magnet Board Member and Social Chair, Patrick Sierra also threw the first pitch of the game kicking off the 7:00 games!

Happy Hour - Dlux

Magnet member, Drew Kemp-Baird, and Top of Mind speaker in August works at a local Architecture firm. Enberg Anderson Architects is a community-driven architecture team. They focus on design projects that serve a greater purpose, both in the Midwest and Southwest regions. We spent some time understanding new projects happening in our community and enjoying Dlux's boozy milkshakes!
