MagPro: What Is Happiness? What Is It Not?

Join Madison Magnet for our upcoming MagPro event where we will learn about the fundamentals and science of happiness. Pelin Kesebir, Ph.D. from the Center for Healthy Minds, UW-Madison will combine recent insights from the science of happiness with ancient wisdom and lay out the fundamentals of happiness – what it is, what it isn’t, and how each of us can take simple steps to come closer to achieving the fundamental dream that unites us all.

Volunteer with Tri4Kids

Volunteer for Tri4Kids Waunakee on 5/19! Tri 4 Schools, a local nonprofit founded in 2014 by Katie Hensel (a 2018 YP Award finalist!), works with local organizations to host children’s races and events with zero expenses. Because of this unique fundraising platform, Tri 4 Schools is able to allow all proceeds to benefit activities or programs within the race’s participating schools aimed at getting kids active or teaching them about health and nutrition. In 2015, Tri 4 Schools donated almost $50K in health and wellness resources to area schools. An event like the Waunakee Kids Triathlon is only able to work with the help of dedicated volunteers. They are in need of folks to help with a range of tasks including packet pick-up on Friday, May 18 as well as Saturday morning set-up, transition assistance, registration, and race teardown.v

Here are the key positions and shifts that we look to fill:

a. Friday night packet pick-up 4-7pm (5/18)
b. Saturday morning set-up 5:30-7:30am (5/19)
c. Race shift 1 (transition, registration) 6:30-10:30am (5/19)
d. Race shift 2 (transition, course, finish) 7:30-11:30am (5/19)
e. Race take-down 11:30am-1:30pm (5/19)
