Volunteer with Madison Food Pantry Gardens

Join us in helping the Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens prepare for growing season! We'll meet at one of the area gardens and help by weeding, tilling, and planting seeds. We'd look forward to your help! Check out https://www.foodpantrygardens.org/our-gardens for more information on their gardening programs.

How to prepare:

All group members should complete our online Volunteer Waiver (https://www.foodpantrygardens.org/volunteer-waiver). Please wear sturdy shoes, clothing you don't mind getting dirty, and gardening gloves (we have extra gloves if needed). Bring your water bottle; wearing sunscreen is also encouraged. We will have additional drinking water to refill water bottles, hand sanitizer, a hand-washing station, and a porta-potty on site.

Earth Month Cleanup 2025 with Sustain Dane

Join us for a cleanup in the Starkweather Neighborhood with Sustain Dane in partnership with Ian’s Pizza.

Join us for Sustain Dane's fifth year of urban cleanup on Saturday, April 26. Sustain Dane is partnering with Ian’s Pizza to celebrate Earth Month 2025. Ian’s is generously offering a free pizza slice for your hard work!

When trash washes into lakes, rivers, and streams it not only harms fish and other aquatic wildlife, but it makes it difficult to boat, fish, or swim. Help us pick up our neighborhood to prevent this pollution from reaching our waterways.

We will meet outside the south entrance of Garver Feed Mill at 10:00 AM. Sustain Dane will provide gloves, trash bags, and hand sanitizer.

In addition to Magnet registration, please RSVP on the Sustain Dane Website: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/earth-month-cleanup-2025-tickets-1226547479529

You must register by April 25th.

We strive to be an inclusive organization and encourage our members to engage with, learn from, and develop an understanding of others. We prioritize the safety of our community and expect behavior that exhibits respect for all people and supports these values at all Magnet gatherings.

Hangout & Assemble Hygiene Kits to Donate

Join us at Delta Beer Lab & help out the community! During this time, Magnet will provide supplies for us to assemble toiletries into hygiene kits as we socialize together. Magnet will purchase the first round of drinks for attendees. After the event, the Community Involvement Committee will donate these items to Porchlight - a local organization which supports housing insecure people.

Volunteering at Bikes for Kids

Join us as we help Bikes for Kids refurbish bicycles for local kids in need! Each year this organization refurbishes around 2000 bikes for youth in the Madison Community. In the spring, all of these bikes are given away for free so kids may enjoy them throughout the warmer months. Learn more at https://bikesforkidswi.org/

During this event, we will help with cleaning up and repair of bikes. Necessary supplies will be provided but please choose clothing/shoes suitable for this activity. If the group is interested, we will plan to go for a drink or quick bite to eat to socialize more afterward.
